Why two kinds of "GB"?

Storage manufacturers and network speeds typically use the decimal (SI) definition — 1 GB = 1000³ bytes. Operating systems and RAM specs often use the binary (IEC) definition — 1 GiB = 1024³ bytes. The two differ by about 7.4% at the gigabyte scale (and more at larger scales), which is why a "1TB" drive shows up as roughly 931 GiB in your file manager. This tool keeps them as distinct units instead of picking one silently.
